Reader Favorite Parts

I thought it a nice idea to share reader's feedback re. favorite parts of the book with all of you, so I welcome you all to email me your favorite parts from the book that YOU found useful. Just the page numbers with first/last words are fine. Look fwd!

From Michael:
So many parts were really useful and I'm applying some now, but pages 53-55, although simple calculations, I never thought of it this way before. Thanks!:

Here's a snippet:
"a) 8 min/day saved will give you 3 days/year! (48hrs/yr awake hrs).
b) 18 min/day saved will give you 7 days/year! (110hrs/yr awake hrs).
......
1) Email vs. Call - a 2 min email vs. a 10 min call,makes you those 8min
2) Calling vs. Meeting - a 20 min call vs. a 60 min meeting, makes you 40min/day, which will give you a whopping 15 days/year ! (243 hrs/yr awake hours)." There's your BONUS "2" week holiday on the beach !

From Carol:
Entire chapter 4 on Time was a wakeup call, especially pages 37, 44, 50. Page 37 got me thinking!:

"Imagine, just imagine you were forced to spend one dollar every hour of every day. Imagining?
You can spend it on anything you like. You can spend it on something to eat, somewhere to go, or just give it away, anything - but only one dollar each hour - no more , no less. But you have to keep spending. Does it sound crazy? Impossible ? OK, I'll make it easier. Try imagining this: Someone had access to your bank account, and they were taking out one dollar every hour, every day, for the rest of your life. If you lived for another 66 years, that would be just over $578,160, or over half a million dollars.

Yes, your time is stored in your "time bank account", just like your money is stored in your bank account. But with different rules. The rule of the game is that you can only spend your time!"

From Dave:
I couldn't put the book down from the moment I started, but if I had to choose one part, page 20 made me really think about my lifestyle as I never thought of it this way before.:

"OK, so let's work out just how many hours you are working now.
If you're on the normal 9-5 workweek, then you're doing 40hrs a week x 50, allowing for two weeks holiday, so 2000 hours a year.

Let's say you spend two hours a day on stuff you really love. This leaves you with a 6x5x4 lifestyle. (6hrs a day x 5 days a week x 4 weeks a month) = 1440hrs a year (assuming you have a four-week holiday each year).

If however, you;re on the 3x3x3 lifestyle, you're working 360 hours a year.
There's a slight difference isn't there. Aha, I hear you say, "But I can't afford not to work, I need the money!". Sure you do! I do too. I also have to live my lifestyle somehow. The question is: "How much do you need?"
Or, as I mentioned before, the most important question to ask yourself is: "What lifestyle do I want to live?" and, "How much will this cost me ... per month?"

Notice I'm not asking for a yearly amount, or even worse, an amount after you retire so to speak, but how much do you want now and each month?"
